Ethan Hughes is an associate attorney in WKPZ’s real estate practice group. His practice includes advising and representing clients on various real estate and business transactions. He assists clients in purchasing, selling, financing, leasing, and developing commercial and residential properties, including retail, multi-family, office, industrial, condominiums, and mixed-use projects. Ethan helps clients form and structure business entities associated with real estate development and ownership, such as partnerships, joint ventures, LLCs, and corporations. In addition to advising on real estate and business deals, he assists with financing transactions for both lenders and borrowers. Ethan also performs title and survey reviews, cures title defects, and assists in drafting and negotiating easements and deed restrictions.
Before joining WKPZ, Ethan practiced at Jackson Walker, LLP in their Banking and Finance practice group, representing lenders and borrowers in complex Real Estate, Commercial, and Industrial financing transactions. During law school, he served as a research assistant, a trademark and copyright clinician, an honor student at the SEC’s Division of Enforcement, a legal extern for a building materials distributor and eye care company, and a clerk at the Texas Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division.
Ethan serves on the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo School Art Auction Committee in his free time, underscoring his commitment to supporting local talent and fostering creativity and curiosity among the next generation of leaders. When the rodeo dust settles, Ethan embarks on adventures with his pup, Poppy, exploring all of Houston’s hidden gems.
